i recently purchased an 84 cv for $120.00 cdn.it will not shift and rev like a bugger until 60 kmp,then good luck keeping up,it is a 5.7l v8 this much i know,my question on the other hand is what trans is in this vehicle it has aod also besides checking fluids what are some other trouble shooting tips.i am not mechanically inclined but willing to get filthy. thx in advance

Check for vacume leaks,that will cause the kind of problems you mentioned
