Hi all im looking to find out what other transmission will fit in my car I have a 99 cvpi preferably something cheaper to work on and repair.

Those transmissions are VERY good. If yours needs replacement, I'd see about a good used one. You'd need to get a 1999 because they're programed per year. Some can interchange but you're better off with the same year. You can search for one here: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market A Grand Marquis is the same. It doesn't have to be a P71.

it fots 99 and 00 Crown Vic. And it does have to be a police car if you want the right shift points and right gears. Yes one from a non police car and grand marquis will work but it wont be exactly the same. It will shift sooner and not as hard. The police car is built a little stronger and more heavy duty.
