97 grand marquis with 100,000 rough shifting from 1st to 2nd and from 3 to 4th but if shut off od thru trans switch on column it shifts smoother.changed filter and fluid 3 days ago and still rough if i leave od on all the time.thinking its shift solenoid ?

If the linkage or range selector switch are out of adjustment, they can cause shifting problems. The plug to the switch can get corrosion and not give the right signal. Also, make sure it's seated properly.

what can you clean that with? and where bouts it located

That's the switch on the left side of the transmission where the linkage connects.
