Anyone have any P71 type steel wheels, with the chrome trim rings, and/or the center caps for sale? I have my 'summer' tires, and no rims to put them on. I wanted to go with thrusters, to make it look more like a Marauder, but the wife wants it to look more like a unmarked squad, as she does a lot of interstate driving, and wants everyone out of her way!
Thanks,
John

You can find the steel wheels here. Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market None of our cars came with chrome trim rings. The hub caps are the same as a ranger and will cost less.

What years Ranger? And, what size? If it says 15" wheel, will that still work?
Also, do you know if this is the same part number: 560-30780 [580.FD8101]?
Thanks,
John

Well, I was able to get the center caps off of Ebay, and they look nice! I also see that on Ebay, I can get the cheap, knock-off version of the trim rings really cheap. So, now I'm just looking for the wheels. 16X7 steel. I don't care about the paint job, as long as they're not bent, or really rusty. I know a body guy who's really cheap, and he'll paint them for me for practically nothing. I want to get them painted the dark blue of the car. That should look nice.
Thanks,
John

I actually bought a set of hubcaps from him, to go on my van, since some idiot decided to steal only TWO of the four stock ones! The ones I bought from him, actually look nicer than the stockers, with chrome centers, and outside rings. Other than that, they look identical. But, it's whats on the inside that makes them 'cheap'. I couldn't get one on all the way, as it was kind of cockeyed, and ended up breaking one of the mounting tabs. He did replace the hubcap for free though, and paid for the shipping! But, now I'm afraid of even trying to get one off, as I'm afraid of breaking it! We'll see when I have to do that!
At least with the trim rings, I won't have to take them off to get the wheel off!

I know this is an old thread, but I have another problem now. I got the wheels, and the center caps, but the caps won't stay on the wheels! I finally got the wheels painted to match the car, and when I tried to put the center caps on, they just sit there, but they don't 'lock' in place or anything. Do I need special lug nuts for the center caps to work? They are Ford caps, part number YL24-1AO96-CB. I took pictures, but haven't put them on the computer yet. If someone needs to see them, I'll post them on here.
Thanks,
John

I decided to go ahead and download the pictures. If someone could let me know what I have to do to make this work, I'd appreciate it.
