I noticed yesterday that when going around right hand turns the left rear tire "bottoms out" in the wheel well. When I finally got a chance to check it out there was obvious rub marks on the inside of the wheel well. The car also is sunken heavily towards the left rear. Is it just a blown out shock or something more serious? I do not know if it has "air ride". 1999 P71 Crown Victoria.

You have a bad rear spring - sounds like it could be broken...

Thanks, but I figured it out. I bought new rear shocks, replaced them and then I noticed something I've never seen before. I snapped the passenger side rear track bar clean in half. $50 later I installed the track bar off of a 2001 Grand Marquis, centered the rear axle and now the clunking is gone.
