Where is trunk light located in '00 Crown Vic? - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

Hello,

I am trying to locate the trunk light in my 2000 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor so that I can replace the bulb. Can someone tell me exactly where it is?

Hello, my 98 has the trunk light under the back panel of the back seat on the left side. this is underneath the panel where the speakers go and the middle back safety light. You should be able to see it there somewhere. also look at the trunk hindges and on the left side there is a little retangular box about 1 x 2" that has wires coming out of it and is attached to the hindge. this is the mercury switch (I think mercury) that tells the light to turn off and on when you close and open the trunk. hope this helps.

It looks like the sheriff's office might have removed the bracket that used to hold the trunk light. I tried to attach picture but the forum wouldn't let me. I went to the Ford dealership today and it sounds like they can order the part for me but won't be able to until Monday. I'll keep the forum updated.
