Alfer Registered User Join Date: Sep 2007 Posts: 6	Why does an idle air control vlv fail? Curious as to why these things fail...my car (2001 GM)only has 27,800 miles and my valve failed...I know many others have issues...so what's up? Do they get clogged with carbon or something or is it just a design flaw? If it IS carbon related, could it be cause by the type of gas you use..meaning I've heard that using ethanol blended unleaded gas can cause older engines some issues (carbon build up?)...could this be related to the premature failure of the valve..?? What are your thoughts on this? Thanks
