Just wondering if Marauder will become a collectible car one day?

I do not think that it will be. others will say it will. It is like the Impala SS. Some people think it will not and some do think it will be a classic.

Mercury to drop Marauder after '04 model year

DETROIT - Mercury will drop the Marauder performance sedan after the 2004 model year. Production of the Marauder at the St. Thomas, Ontario, assembly plant will end in June, a Mercury spokesman said last week.

"We made a decision to concentrate our resources on the new launches," Mercury spokesman Todd Nissen said. Mercury will introduce the Montego sedan and Mariner sport wagon in September.

Mercury doesn't break out sales for the Marauder, which is part of the Grand Marquis family. The Marauder's base sticker is $34,945, including the destination charge.

I guess you just buy the wheels for the love of it and not worry about it becoming a classic. If one want's a classic/collectible car then they should just look for that :)

Many owners have asked that question. It's possible, especially with the low volume, but not a sure thing. Time will tell...

The main problem with the Marauder is it just isn't fast. The little 4.6 litre engine, just doesn't have the torque (or gearing for that matter) to shift that big heavy body. If it had something like a BOSS 260 or BOSS 290 under the bonnet, things may be a bit different.

The Impala SS atleast had the torquey 350 under the bonnet to get all that weight moving.

The Marauder is a great concept, with a major shortcoming.
