I'm wondering if every body has the same trouble keeping a charging system together in a Mk 7? I can't keep my battery terminals from corroding, and the stock replacement alternator is already starting to fail after only 11 months. I even tried to solve the battery thing with a very interesting idea, terminal ends with a grease serk. They worked great until the oxidiation pushed all of the grease out of the terminal caps. I tried platnum StreetWires ends on a 94 Splash, and they didn't work either. Am I over working my charging system? I haven't even added the 15" subs that have been planned yet.

You are not alone...
A lot of guys have switched over to the Mustang 3G alternator with internal regulator.Here is a link to a how to with pictures.

Don't feel bad I'v had my car for 2 years and have been thru 7 alts and 3 bats and 4 voltage regulators
