Impalas vs. Lincolns (Total Confirmed: 18 Lincolns + 25 Impalas = 43 cars)
Trophies are in! ...Our thanks to all who contributed.
REMEMBER...you must have paid into the trophy fund to have a chance to receive one.
We will have our own area setup at the track per Todd from Bradenton raceway.
This is the rotation he will use to run all the cars:
1) Normal Test and Tune cars
2) Southern SuperHeavy Shootout bracket cars
3) Southern SuperHeavy Shootout heads up cars
then back to #1
We have to be ready for each rotation.
We'll just set-up our own staging lanes and wait our turn.
Don't forget, you MUST show your slip to the Southern SuperHeavy Shootout referees after each run.
It's up to you to select a partner to run against.
Probably the best way to do this is to estimate your ET and find someone close to it.
Alan from Bradenton also let me know that, in his words: "You will get first class track prep with VHT!"
FINAL DATE: Saturday, November 17, 2001 from 9:00 to 2:30
If you want to stay an extra day, Sunday is open for a Funday Sunday, from 9:00 to 4:00
There is also an evening bracket race for money that day.
$10 per person to get in. $5 to run your car.

FYI....Bradenton safety requirements for TestnTune:
All that would be required in the 11-12 second range would be a helmet, full bodied car (or cage if not),
fully functioning and unaltered seat belts or a 5 point belt, and a fire jacket.
Since some of the guys run in the 15s and don't really want to race the big guns, we're setting it up so that you can run heads up or bracket.
I think this is more fun than an elimination type of race. This way you get to run as much as you want.
We will also need a group our wives/girlfriends/ buddies to keep track of everyone's times and act as referees.
If anyone has contacts with some of the car mags, it would be great to have this Shootout turn up as an article somewhere.
If we do this right, it could be a yearly event! I got in touch with Popular Hot Rodding, and they MIGHT be able to send someone.
21 trophies total (flip coin in case of a tie, low MPH flips, high MPH calls):
For best ET trophies it doesn't matter if you win or lose a race or run by yourself.
Best ET Overall, 2nd, 3rd
Best ET Lincoln Power adder, 2nd, 3rd
Best ET Impala Power adder, 2nd, 3rd
Best ET Lincoln NA, 2nd, 3rd
Best ET Impala NA, 2nd 3rd
Most wins for the day, 2nd, 3rd
Total of bracket & heads up wins for the guys willing to abuse their cars! You MUST run another car.
Best average bracket, 2nd, 3rd
Average of difference between posted dial time and actual time, wins only, 2 runs minimum, but you MUST run another car.
If you win one trophy, you can't win again. It's your choice which trophy you want. Lowest ET gets the choice.
You also need to have paid the 10 bucks to get one.
