07 F150 Fuel Gauge reads --- ???

Okay so Ive got an 07 F150 bought new and now has 54,000 miles on. Its got the E85 flex fuel add on and I filled up with E85 for like the 4th time. Shortly after, my fuel gauge first read half when I had clearly just put in 21 gallons of E85. Eventually the fuel gauge just went blank and the gas light came on as well as the emission systems light. I now have 3/4 of a tank of regular unleaded and probably 1/4 E85. I suspect that the E85 is bad cause it was from a small IL town that probably never gets used because it just isnt popular there. But regardless I dont see how bad gas could do that to a fuel gauge? Please help... What are the reasons the gauge would fail?
What role does the E85 play in this mess?
How much does this cost to get fixed?

Thanks for your help!

There's no need to double-post.
