Hello all-
I just bought a new (to me) 1992 F-150 ex cab 4x4 with the 5.0 V8. After 1 day of having it, I already have a laundry list of things to do to it!

I bought this truck with some hesitation - it had a rough idle that the dealer attributed to the fact that he had been starting it every couple of days and letting it idle for about 15 minutes - his mechanic said that there was build up in the injectors from this so they put in injector cleaner, premium gas and changed the plugs and wires. After running a full tank of gas through, it still has a rough idle. Any ideas where I should start first to track down the problem?

Also, this morning I went to start it up and go for a drive in the snow and it wouldn't start. I pretty much drained the battery trying, so it is on the charger now. So what can I do to prevent this from happeneing? I can't miss work because me truck doesn't like the cold weather. It was about 20 degrees here today. Short of adding a block heater, any ideas on cold starting?

Thanks to all for the help. I'll be back for answers to my questions on adding dual exhaust, new intake, etc...but I need to have it running before I worry about those things.

For the rough idle i would check the Idle air control which sits right on the side of the throttle body.
As for the cold starts i'm unfamiliar with such cold weather so maybe someone else could help with that.
