1995 F-150 missing oil ? - Ford Forums

Howdy all...
I have a 1995 f-150 with just under 60,000 miles. I have done all service's to this truck & changed oil every 3000 miles. At 54000 miles the engine started useing oil about a quart between oil changes. It's not burning it no leaks anywhere. I changed the EKG value , still going through oil. This is the 302 engine. Anyone know of anything that might cause this problem. Thank for any reply...Bugnosis

It could be leaky valve seals but the oil would be disappear out the exhaust as light blue. With all the exhaust emission and catalytic (my spelling right?) converters this might not be noticed. A quart at 3000 miles is not too bad. I have a 1988 F-150 302-V8 with 188,000 kilos (about 118,000 miles) and it runs down a quart in a 1000 miles, but I am leaking some oil through the valve covers. Long as your oil pressure is normal and still have lots of power I'd say nothing to worry about, oil is still cheap. Its the gas thats getting expensive.
