Question 2004 weird noise

I have a 2004 F150 with the 5.4 V8. 60,000 miles The engine just started making a weird noise toay. It almost sounds like a diesel. The only time it is loud enough to hear it inside the truck is when you start from a complete stop. If it is in park I cannot hear the rattle unless the hood is open. The truck is driving fine with no vibrations. Any ideas what this could be? It doesn't make the sound all the time, it is worse after I drive for about 10 mins in the morning.
