hey does anyone have any preformance suggestions for my 1986 f-150 with a 302 for cheap?

what kind of preformance suggestions are you looking for ?

a cam change will give you the most gain for the buck but their are endless places to start in a persuit of the all mighty HP.

i want to be able to beat my friends 2001 gmc 4.8 i hate that thing. my truck has only 44000 miles and is old but looks and runs great. what would be a good dual exhaust?

Cam change can run anywhere from 150 and up for the cam and then you are looking at install. Install will depend on your area. Here i know people/companies that do cam changes for 300 some places cost more.

yea if you do a cam change yourself you have to figure for gaskets and a few other tidbits.
flowmaster makes dual exhaust kits for most vehicles but you can buy any kind of exhaust that you like and have it put on at a muffler shop.
around here you can have a complete dual exhaust from the headers or manifolds back custom bent for around $250 not including mufflers.
there are literally hundreds of different options.

I just joined and when i got my truck i had the same prob the best thing ive done so far is 3in exaust and added the K&N you will tell a diff immedately and its fairly cheap. My Friend also drves a Newer Chevy and Id smoke him now if it werent 4 the 4:11 In the back of mine

The RESULTS pages of Project MPG describe dyno-proven mods that actually help. But the best thing you can do is thorough regular maintenance using Ford/MotorCraft or quality aftermarket parts. Stay out of the zone, and don't waste time, money, & effort on gimmicks like magnets, fans in the intake, or mason jars full of water.
