mad 4.9 bending pushrods

try to get my 89 f-150 ready for the road i just bought it and it had been sitting up for two years with a busted trany got it home it ran fine got up the next mornin when it finaly got it to run it sounded bad so i torn it apart 6 out 12 push rods where now bent into S's replaced them and lifter put it together ran sweet next day went out to crank it back ot square 1 its got a 4.9 inline six fuel injected i figure that maybe some of you had this problem before all i know is that i what it to run good for more than a day

I know its been a while since you posted this thread, but I though I would share my experences with bent push rods.

Back in the 50's my dad drove a 1956 Ford F-800 truck, and it got to bending push rods. He stared adding a quart of RESLONE to the oil about ever 3rd oil change, and didn't have anymore problems.
