What years did Ford make them.. I have seen a few locally and I want one..The perfect camping truck. I would prefer 1980 and older. But not sure which years.
Ford introduced the Crew cab in 1966 as a regular production option. Prior to that Crew cabs were available only as aftermarket conversions. You should concentrate on 73 and 74 Crew cabs, as they are the most abundant. The F250 4x4 has a 6 3/4 foot box.
have you had any luck finding a truck? i'd be interested in hearing about it if you have. i dont see to many older four door trucks around. i keep telling my wife that we should sell her car and buy one.
Some idiot told my neihbor that the heads needed rebuilding because he couldnt get it to pass emissions. I bought the truck knowing this so it wasnt a big deal. Well, I now have 289 heads (not rebuilt) and a 302 that I need to check compression on. If the 302 has descent comp. then I will have them done and make a go of it. I just wanted it for campin and such with the family since my Brat only seats two and need at least room for three.
other than the emisions hows the truck run? did it fail the emisions or did your nieghbor not try because of what he was told. what year is the truck? my 82 is exempt from emisions in massachusettes. i dont think it would pass if it had too.
I guess I forgot to mention that he took the heads in to have them rebuilt and never went to get them. Thats why I am looking into the 289 heads and checking on that 302. I bought the truck for cheap minus the heads.. I think the block might be toast now though, just because its been sitting in the truck for around a year with the top end off. The Cyl. walls are pretty rusty. looks thick but I havent checked yet to be certain.
