confused 85 F150 rear end problem

My Ford F150 makes a clunking sound when I turn the truck. (from the rear end) I took the rear drive line off and put it in 4wheel to get home, but I dont have a clue what the prob is. Whats the inexpensive solutions? It is a 9" rear end with a 350 gear ratio. Thanks in advance.

biggrin Re: 85 F150 rear end problem

I discovered the problem after tearing into the rear end. The main gear was torn off the differential. I then rebuilt it (with the help of a knowledgable friend), now no more noise. I thought I would post the repair since I received no responses, Maybe This will help someone else. Good luck all.
