Question 85 f150 running bad

I have the 302 (5.0) with efi and noticed fuel leaking out on the passenger side fender. found out that my fuel pressure reg. was bad and was leaking fuel into the vacume lines. I replaced the regulator and it still ran bad especially when a load was put on the engine. I popped the vacume line to the regulator and it was throwin out fuel. THANKS OREILEYS. I went and got a new one and just put it on and now its still running extremely bad. it will first start up real good and idle well until I put it in drive. after a few minutes everytime i stop the engine sounds like its bout to die and when i give it gas it does die or gets really close to it. HELP PLEASE.

Re: 85 f150 running bad

Also the engine was rebuilt not to long ago. secondly the transmission recently slipped on me so i immediately towed it home so i wouldnt damage it anymore and eversince then it hasnt slipped again? I had a friend look at it and he noticed how hard my gas pedal was and immediately brought up a tv cable or something. its connected to my tranny and then goes to where my throttle cable hooks up. he said there could be something hanging it up in the tranny.... dont know if the two problems could have anything to do witheachother im only a begginer mechanic on a low budget so im lost. any advice will help thank you.
