87' MAF mod/last minute ??'s

Going to the boneyard Sunday to harvest parts for a MAF conversion of an 87'F-150 302/auto trans. Suggested target vehicles for harvesting are said to be 88'-93' mustangs, although 94'& 95'OBD1 MAF F-150 302's are known to have been made but in limited quantities. Is scarcity the reason I haven't seen them recommended or is there some other reason, like possibly a better programed timing advance curve of a stang or tranny mismatch with the F-150's? Need to know by Sunday morning! Thanks in advance
