Depends on the truck. I know that these came with a few engine choices. Looking at another one of your posts I see that you found out it was a 302 EFI. I have heard good and bad things both. Just depends on the mileage and condition of the engine.

Re: "88 F150.. what they like?

I have a 88 F-150, owned since 1991, so thats 14 years. It had 27,000 km when I bought it. Minor repairs over the years...serpentine belt, rad hoses, valve cover gaskets, brakes, ignition service (sparkplug wires, plugs, cap & rotor), tie rods and the short drag link. Major repairs, one clutch, water pump replaced only because the gasket leaked and one powersteering pump. Have had some water leaks around the windshield, but what doesn't leak on the wet coast. I have 188,000 km on it today and just starting to get rust on rear fender wells. Oh one more, fuel pump problem right now, can't get them to shut down after I turn the ignition off. Have to use the kill switch. It has a 302 V8 with 4 speed tran and I tow a 19ft fifth wheel with it. I haven't had any fuel injector problems so far. So if your looking for one good luck.

Re: "88 F150.. what they like?

I did buy the truck.. its got a few k's on it.. 314 thou, but engine has had a rebuild

I gonna put the extractors and twin system on it. Lift it 6" so the 35" tyres dont rub.

Otherwise she not too bad.. bit of rust forming, so gonna get onto it now.

Paid only $12 000, australian that is

Re: "88 F150.. what they like?

Do I read you right......you paid 12,000 australian? A 88 150 with that mileage around here if you were to sell it, you'd be lucky to get 1,200 canadian, and I don't think theres that much dif in our dollar exchange. I could buy a five or six year old F-150 for that and in good condition.
