Question 89 F150 with a mustang motor

that sounds good BUT, have a 89 f 150 with a 302 motor out of a mustang. not sure which year. the motor has a firing order is 13726548. the problem is that it runs bad and no power. They put the truck intake and plume off the truck on the mustang motor. I am assumming they used the fuel rails off the truck. i am guessing the computer from the truck is telling the fuel to pump at the wrong time, the trruck firing order is suppose to be 15426378. i was told the cam is different in the mustang motor(302 HP). what can be done to fix thix. not sure i can get a mustang computer becuase the fuel rails are off the truck.

thanks!

Re: 89 F150 with a mustang motor

Put in a new pre-'94 truck 5.0L cam.

But first, try swapping the plug wires to the other firing order just to check...
