97 F-150 Torque/tranny/transfer problem???
I am at a loss for this truck! My husbands F-150 nightmare started back in November. Not sure exactly what the truck was doing but he decided that the tranny was shot. Took it to a friend and they replaced the transfer case. I drove it home that night with not a problem. The next day my hubby complained that it wouldn't shift into gear until the r.p.m's were around 2grand. So hear we go! He then went and bought a used tranny, put it in, pinched a stinking wire, took it back out, fixed the wire, and put it back in. NOW the tranny still wont engage till the r.p.m's are in the 2000 to 3000 area. Sooo he changes the torque converter, gets it all back together and its still doing the same thing. I took it round the block and it shifts fine, just wont engage until the r.p.ms are high. Any body please do you have any info for me!!! We need our truck back!!!!
