Re: Air Conditioner Problem - 2006 F-150 Crew Cab
Hey
Sorry, but we don't get that particular model imported down here, so I can't tell you exactly how much refrigerant it takes BUT, under your hood, there will be a sticker (requiered by law) that the manufacturing plant has to put in every car, stating the type and amount of gas that goes in your system. The type should be R134a. This sticker I've seen in white, yellow or orange, depending on where the car was made. If it's not on the actual hood, check the panel above the grille.
The amount of refrigerant will vary for different models and depending also on year of manufacturing, brand of compressor used at the time, size of cabin, if auxiliary a/c is fitted and so on. To give you an idea, F-250s will take 1.13kg (40 oz) without auxiliary system fitted and 1.93kg (68 oz) with aux system, so your car shouldn't be too far off these specs. My guess will be around 0.9kg to 1.1kg, seeing as the F-250s are a little bigger. Hope this helps, cheers
