air-intake silencer

What is it because ive havent heard of it before.

"One trick that costs nothing is to remove the restrictive stock air-intake silencer. Designed to do what it says, it costs about 5 hp."

Re: air-intake silencer

As far as I know, that's for later model F series trucks with the modular engines. It may also apply to the MAF equipped trucks but I'm not 100% on that. It's a popular mod with the Mustang guys and it does free up some hp by making the air flow more freely into the throttle body.

This is a new one for me. Anything to increase air flow into the engine is a good thing. I'll have to try it out.....
