AOD Automatic to 5spd conversion

I've got a 93 2x4 F150 Excab Shrt bed I'm thinking about switching over from AOD automatic to 5spd manual. Along w/ the 5spd, I'll need: crossmember, flywheel, clutch, press. plate, t.o.b., pedal assem., clutch master cyl. and slave cyl., diff. driveshaft (longer?-has it gotta be outta the same body style truck-2wd xcab shrtbed-or will another one work?). Is there anything else that I've missed? My only other worry is will switching trannys affect the engine and how it runs as far as the EEM or ECU or whatever? Do I also need to switch out the computer as well??? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: AOD Automatic to 5spd conversion

the only thing i can comment on is the ECM (computer) it will be in a constant "open loop" mode, meaning it wont run right at any time. the computer thing will definately be a problem.. you want good fuel mileage, and for it to pass inspection? you need an ECM and probably the harness as well (the tranny has a plug on it, right?) im not sure, but thats probably a dif. plug. if you can get around the emissions, why not use a carb setup or an aftermkt fuel inj. system..got $? just a thought
