Automatic downshift problems

Hi all, I'm new to the site and happy to have discovered it.

I have a 99 F150 5.4L

I just recently had the intake gaskets done and since that was done what is happening is that when I drive it at around 100 to 110 kmh and let it coast down on it's own I'm getting hard downshifts from that speed to about 75kmh.

Any ideas on what this can be ?

Re: Automatic downshift problems

I don't think I can be of much help as all these new vehicles transmissions have electronic controls, but one suggestion is to check all small vacuum hoses, something could have been switched around or left disconnected. I'm trying to get an answer too as to why my fuel pumps won't shut down after I turn my motor off and remove the key from the ignition.

Re: Automatic downshift problems

Wherever there is a vacuum hose or looks like one check it out, I'm not familiar with the newer vehicles, there could be one coming from the tranny.
