skid2964 Registered User Join Date: Sep 2004 Posts: 28	Bearing grease(not gear oil) from rear axle? I have an F150 with 180,000 miles on it. I noticed that some thick bearing grease has been slung all over my right rear quarter panel, wheel and inner fender well. I thought the rear outer bearings were lubricated by the gear oil in the rear axle housing? Does it have a packed bearing back there? If so, I guess I have a seal going out. If not, maybe I ran over it in the road. AND! if I have to fix this ... are there any special tools required, special huge sockets, long socket extensions or pullers, etc .... ?
