Not sure if it is still that way but even going back to my '93 there are two U shaped extractors that just look like a big metal U made out of round wire about the diameter of a clothes hanger with a little flat at each end. These get inserted through the face of the stereo into little holes near each end of the face. This disengages some tabs that keep the stereo from being pulled out otherwise. If there are two holes, in a vertical line, at each end of the stereo face then this is how it comes out. You can get these U shaped extractors, not sure what they are called, at Radio Shack.
Thanks for the reply........
I had a '93 F150 with the same set up ,this is different. I'm guessing the mask around the unit snaps in and out and then there is access to the radio, but I don't want to chance it and ruin the trim mask.
When in doubt drop by the library and check out the manuals there. They should have an exploded diagram in them of how it all goes together and how to take it apart.
