Check Engine Light 1996 F150 - Ford Forums

Hello All - New user.

I have a 96 F150 I6 4.9L, 2wd. My check engine light has been on for...well a couple of years and no matter what I do to clear it, it keeps popping back on. I believe the code is P0174 or P0171 lean bank 2, or 1. I have replaced the following: All 3 O2 sensors, MAF sensor, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel filter. H

Has anyone else had this code and what cleared it? Or, any suggestions?

Also, as of recently when my gas cycles through the engine it is not returning to the gas tank (dual tanks) in which it came from. What is the name of this mechanism so I know when I price parts? I cannot recall....

Have you checked for vacuum leaks?

Did you not receive any Ford F150 manual when you purchased your pick up? I'm sure it'll help a lot, or if not ask your mechanic for help. Manuals and my mechanic helped me a lot when I encounter problems on my F150.
