Check This Out.... Superchareged Power ..???

I know this has been talked about at some point on this site before, however Im am too lazy to find it. I drive a 92 1/2 ton Ford with the 300 ci I-6 engine and a manual trans.

I would like to know what people thought about putting some forced induction into this already outstandin...but somwehat power lacking motor...

I am lookin for good suggestions here as swapping the I-6 for a 302 just doesn't make any sense...

Anyone with good ideas I hope to hear from you...

How about going the 351 from the start. You 'll definately see a difference going the 351. Then that will give you a good basis to start with.

Possbily http://www.truckperformance.com might be a bit better as hes situated in California. But think about the 351, then the SC and then your talking power.

Re: Check This Out.... Superchareged Power ..???

on the 351 note would the 5- speed trans that i have for my 300 work with the 351...would the bolts line up or would it be a total drivetrain swap...in which case i might also need a new driveshaft...

I also checked out the sites u guys reffered me to...thanks by the way... but no one seems to make a bolt on kit....which isn't that surprising.... Im wondering if an existing kit could be adapted to work for the 300 I-6.....

Re: Check This Out.... Superchareged Power ..???

i am in the same boat as you 92 i have a 97 F series with a 4.2l V-6.
there are alot of options for going with a supercharger but i have only seen one that was a direct bolt on kit and i had heard bad things about it.
the best thing to do would be contact a rep from one of the supercharger manufacturers and see if a kit can be made up to fit your model yr or if they could even tell you which model would be most similar.
once you have the basic components of a supercharger kit you can make your own mounting brackets and change some of the plumbing around to make a kit work.
i have read that the basic 6 - 7 psi boost will add around 80 hp to a 6 cylinder.
you would have to figure that a bolt on kit would more than likely set you back around $4,500 and is it worth that to gain 80 hp.
then again you can add more boost or do some port work and cam swap type mods to it and make even more hp.
