Electrical Problem

Hi: I have a 1994 Ford F-150, 302cu, automatic with 130k miles. The engine starts fine, but when I turn on the lights the engine stalls out. Turn off the lights and the engine starts fine, turn on the lights and the engine quits. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Electrical Problem

Check the charging system and check the battery. Make sure the connections are tight. Is the battery light on?

Re: Electrical Problem

Thanks, Johnny Mullet. I found it, apparently the ground post on the fender had worked loose. Just enough to cause the engine to quit when you put a load on the battery, like turning on the lights.
