Engine will turn, won't fire, need help
Hello F-150 clan,
I've owned my '98 V6 for almost a year now, its high mileage but still ran well. About a month ago I turned the ignition, engine turned wouldn't fire up though. I tried again, truck started no problem. Didn't think much of it. Happened once about a week or so later. Hmmm...still didn't give a whole lot of thought to it. Almost it week ago, it happened on Tuesday. Then again on Wednesday...not liking the pattern developing here decided to try and take it in somewhere on friday to get it looked (my day off) but Thursday it wouldn't start at all. I was at an 1/8 of a tank the night before ( I know, I know, not good, just being lazy wednesday on my way home) so I put gas in it and went a few rounds with it. Wouldn't start, pulled the hose off the carb, check the air filter, was due for an oil change so I changed it (probably not the problem but figured it needed to be done and it wouldn't hurt) still won't start. I'm not very mechanically inclined but I'm not a complete auto-invalid but my pockets aren't really that deep right now so I'm just looking for some advice or suggestions as to what may be the problem or what may be the fix. The battery seems to have a good charge, the meter reads above mid.
So I'm at your mercy, Thanks for any help.
