confused F150 2009 dealer installed non-Ford option

I have a 2009 F150 4X4 with about 10k miles on it (or 14k km here in Canada). I purchased this truck from a dealer some 50 miles from my home. One option purchased was the backup camera: unfortunately the dealer installed a non-ford product and told me it was a Ford product! Of course, the camera system caused the compass to fail (it acts like it needs to be re-cal'd but that doesn't fix it). I took the truck into my local dealer and he says he can't fix it as it is not covered under Ford warranty.
Do I have any options other than trying to get the original dealer to fix the problem (which I think is unlikely as they have tried twice without success). Does Ford care when this happens?

Ford does care if they know about it. What I would do is tell the original dealer that you want to talk to the factory representative about the problem and see what he thinks can be done. Have you talked to the servic manager? Not the service advisor in the drive.
