89 F150

How much adjustment have they got - mines got a bit of a wander in it?

How common are they to fail?

If there is no adjustment how much are they to fix/replace Au$

you can tighten them up to an extent but you will will not be able to go too far because it will be too tight and not turn freely. and yes they do fail and are very salty to replace.
the last one i have replaced cost me about $240 US.

$240 US would be like $1000 here. A ford stealership (hehehe) wanted $950 Aus for a fuel pump. I ended up finding one for $230. What a rip off. Well any how i've had my daily rant.

As 351 said, you can tighten them. To do it properly theres a whole procedure you need to follow like taking off the pitman arm etc. Check out http://www.cybrrpartspro.com/Manual%...delLookup.html . under the steering section you should be able to find a "how to".
