Does anyone know how to change the 95 F-150 fuel filter? i cant get the lines off!

Not sure if its the same set up as my 88 F150. If it is then the filter is down on the frame rail it is likely the same. There is a plastic clip on each end of the filter and all you need is a thin blade screwdriver to lift the U shaped clip and you should be able to pull the line off. Your new filter usually comes with new clips. Also you should depressurize the fuel line, or just wrap a rag around it when you pull the line off so you don't get sprayed with gas.

thanks, it has the clips and i pulled them off, there actulay metal, but the new filter came with plastic ones. but the lines just wont come off! and i have no idea why.

Thats hard to figure out. The lines should come off with a slight pull, unless they are stuck on or someone before put some kind of goo on them. Try prying back the end of the line at the filter with a screwdriver. Other than that, sorry can't help you any further. Let us know how you make out in case others on this Forum site have the same problem. Thanks.

Here's what you have to do. They are quick disconnect lines. You need to go to a automotive store and buy a special tool. They are only a few dollars. The tool is shaped like and X, and each end clamp over the fuel line. Then you insert the tool under the flange. This separates the flange from the filter, and the line will slip off. Its kind of hard, but just push the tool in as far as it will go next to the filter, and pull the line off. Make sure you open your gas cap. To install, the line just clicks onto the filter, and those metal clips lock it into place. Make sure it clicks when you put your new filter in.

Also, don't try to use any tool other than the special one (like a screwdriver) You will mess up the lines. Its a quick disconnect tool for gas lines, and has two ends, each are a different size. Just place it over the gas line, close it, and slide it under the flange. Make sure to take the gas lines off last, and have everything else ready to go, so you just click in the new on right away. Gas does spill, so you have to be quick. Just throw the plastic clips away, because those are for different (easier) model vehicles.

Glad you could help him out. Guess Ford Motor redesigned the system from earlier models. They are making it so one day no one will be able to work on their vehicles.

They sure are trying. You should have seen the spark plugs on my 2000 expedition! Had to take off all kinds of stuff... My 99 taurus had the plastic clips on the fuel filter, so I don't know if its just their trucks or what.
