Re: hay what's Do'N? again?

oh hey this is the link to that video you guys have to check out.
http://www.olypen.com/bulldog/movies.html/F350Run.wmv
this thing is a F-350 deisel twin turbo with a 16 valve dodge cummins motor and ported heads.
but you got to see it run to beleive it.
it is a big download for a slow connection but it is well worth the wait.
let me know what you guys think.

Re: hay what's Do'N? again?

I don't have time and no effort to download it but i take your word that its good.

On your "sob story", that sounds like bad news. I hope you work out the best way around your dilemma. Sorry i'm not much help but maybe someone will want to buy some of the parts or you could get a good deal on the truck. Hey maybe old67 can buy it :s6:
I can't imagine how it feels but i'm guessing by your posts it completely sucks because of the time and effort and money put in.

Re: hay what's Do'N? again?

F-350 deisel! Holy sh ! "I almost gave up ,,glad i didn't" that S.O.B hauled!..............

Sucks about your dilemma , 351w.
I assume you have checked this all out and there is no way around it!?
if so ?..????? I'd get a buddy in another state to help sell...(I don't even know where your at?) or I guess ????? hell!

"That's what's bad about doing what most of us do". normal resale doesn't apply to most of are rides! when you have to sell "for one reason or another" you can't get what you've put in to it. & your really screwed because "now its not even legal!"

anyway ........where are you at ( PM if you want) and whats the price? whole truck , ? just motor and trans? I may not be able to help But, can't hurt to soee what we can do. :) "hate to get one this way!"

and if your not positive about the law? check this out> http://www.insure-me-now.com/i-gov.htm

They tryed some crap like that here a while back! But there were enoughe calls to reps. to stop it before it even got voted on! we don't even have inspection stickers now! " what the do is ball it all into one big deal" So now when your stoped they(cops) can choose to give you a ticket ."even for not enough tread!" But if your not being a dumbAz they don't mess w/you.
sucks for tweekers, and suspicious people! " neither R I" :)

I got to go I'll be back later!!!!!!!!

Re: hay what's Do'N? again?

yea old 67 there is no legal way around it.
i have seen some people are already trying to sell their trucks and cars dirt cheap just to get rid of the headache.
i just seen an ad for a 83 F-150 4x4 in pretty good shape for $600.
all the local bone yards will surely be filling up due to this new law.

"What the heck?" "Did not know you could even do that with them little things? " My bud, does have a gear reduction on his, is that what you mean? its like a turbo." It can be cruising along at like 15 mph & all of the sudden its like at ?...........25? or something? " pretty cool for those little things.

Maybe the thing to do ? is hold out and put some time into getting it legal (half AZ) and maybe recouping some cash? Maybe ? pulling your motor and "playing with that one" on week-ends and building another from the bone yard stuff just to sell?
If you we had the time and money ( don't know what your situation is). may even find something really old to drop your powerpump into( 70-30?) . Usually once they (cars) get so old they don't even want to check them. and if the yards are filling up ? then most your parts will be cheap!(if you decide to keep yours ) It sucks , but that's the way it usually goes "if you have the time and money you come out ahead" I hate that its happening, But there isn't much to do if its already past, as a law.

may be take advantage of it !!!!!!!!!!!! >>>>>>"I just seen an ad for a 83 F-150 4x4 in pretty good shape for $600."<<<<<< if this is going to be the norm? then maybe invest some money in a few (good ones) , And send 'em to a state with out such a law ? make some cash. a little time invested ,for quit a bit of profit!

"and I know its hard to put a price on something like that!" so .......no hurry on a reply......"if that's the way your going?"

" And to who ever "changed" the look of the forum................"looks good!" and loads easier.

Re: hay what's Do'N? again?

Okay guys ive been working, so i havn't really done much to the truck like usual. As you know im having trouble iwth the engine going clunkity clunkity clunk on my cruise last month. Well anyhow i drove it again on the weekend and shes still going clunkity clunkity clunk. Around town she ain't knocking but get on to the highway and i can't cruise at 60 becuase it's knocking. I'm thinking of doing a rebuild of the engine so i'll let you know what im doing by the end of the week. It's done around 150 000-200 000 kilometres so i think its time anyways.

Re: hay what's Do'N? again?

more cubic inches! if possible?
if not? then good machine work!! very important!
compression ratios! check head & piston what's -total?
cam duration? >>>>>>##>>!!!!>>> Make it all work together! "I've seen to many (lets try this & just bolt it on) type deals, 2 let someone I (kind of sortA in-a-round-about way when we catch each other & not personally but on the net but don't know what ya call it & lives in bfe but seems ok type of thang) know to screw up they're own rebuild by not doing they're home work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And if you get lazy!!!!! check out Edlbrock! they have the packages! every thing matched for you! >>>>" 2 work together!"
the other thing!!!!! keep in mind the "actual power" you want. Not something you've read some where.
Real "every day " true to life, stuff..... then when your all done your not disappointed! and you know what you've got!!!!and what it can do!
don't buy a carb because they use it on a racecar that runs 10.62 in the quarter! when your going to use it on your daily driver!
And you can not have ;; cheap, fast ,& efficient! out of those 3 !, you can only have 2! "I don't care what anybody tells you ! there is a catch somewhere!!"

"I,m not saying you'd do any of the above, just that I've seen it happen!"
"Personally I think..... your smarter then that."
"how's that?" does it help?
sucks about your truck, 2! man I guess I need to go check on mine!!!!!!!

It may have just burst into flames or something!!!!!!!!!
what the heck! is going on???????

Re: hay what's Do'N? again?

well old 67 i am not going to do anything for a couple months till i decide what to do and weigh the options.
in the mean time i am looking around for a lick and stick garage just to keep myself in the clear and give myself a little more time.

hey 89 i would pull the motor and start stripping it down and make sure you label everything you unhook with a marker and tape.
plan on a complete rebuild if your gunna do it and keep it for a while.
have the block hot tanked and have new cam bearings, and machine work done at a shop then put the rest together yourself.
if you need pointers let us know cause i am sure old 67 has torn one apart and i have done several myself.
i agree with old 67's comment on buying a complete matched set for whatever parts you decide to use.
edelbrock is not my favorite but i have used their stuff, i would look into holley stuff myself.
with that kind of milage i would install new valve springs and everything.
plan on spending around $2500 US or a little more and that should about cover it.
