Re: hay what's Do'N? again?

I dont need a carb so i dont have to worry about that. :s6:
Thanks for the advice there old67, I just need to find out what i'm doing at the moment. I've got a 302 sitting in the backyard so i was thinking of restoring that one. That way the truck wont be off the road for long. The trucks still drivable around town but its not good on the highway. Which is not good when i have to travel.

Re: hay what's Do'N? again?

yea if you have a second motor to have machined and then just swap parts and drop it in you should be able to do the conversion in a long weekend.
what would you like to see get done at this point.

Did i miss something? Whats this about bag and tag?

The other one in the backyard needs to be rebuilt as well. So no matter which motor i go, its a rebuild. At the moment im just going to drive it like ive stolen it. But it feels alot faster all the time, i think im getting quicker and better at gear changes.
The worst part about it is that it feels so good around town, i can race the shit out of it but i when i get out of town, around 80 in 3rd gear and change into fourth thats when i have trouble. It feels real sluggish. I take fourth up to 100 kph and chagne into fifth and a short while later, thats when she'll start knocking away. I have also found out recently that she'll start knocking at WOT in 3rd, 4th and 5th.

And this post is for, exactaly this! ( not to worry) "I was talking about bad stuff happening to "are" trucks. "

And Yes, "I get it" . "Another motor to rebuild". "is it complete?" "parts wise?"

"have you checked prices yet? for parts ? What parts ? what do you want to do???????????? is this your only ride?

Yeah the other motor is complete. THats what i was thinking of doing. Restoring that motor and just doing an engine swap. I have another car i use for driving as well but i use the truck for work so it can't be down for long. I havn't started looking yet. I will have a look possibly this weekend so i'll let you know .

Re: hay what's Do'N? again?

here is a good place to start with this part number, FEM-MHP174-000 at summitracing.
or how about this little ripper.

Get 350 horses from your 5.0L.

Holley's SysteMAX II engine system upgrades feature everything you need to help your 5.0L perform like a 460. Designed for 1986-93 5.0L H.O. EFI, the SysteMAX II systems combine ideally matched engine components that work together to give you maximum power and performance. You get an aluminum upper/lower intake manifold and fully assembled 61cc aluminum cylinder heads that are port matched for optimum airflow. Plus, you get a specially designed roller camshaft, hardened pushrods, and a double roller timing chain and gear set for precise timing.

bwaaahaaha i'm just teasin ya dont get all excited because you cant use that type of stuff and stay emissions legal.
