Heater Core Issues-Water noise behind glovebox
I thought I had a leak from my radiator or water pump and it turns out it is my heater core. I replaced it 2 years ago but now I believe a hose is leaking. I have been hearing water behind the glove box for the last week when the engine gets really hot or I turn the engine off. Does that sound always mean your heater core is messed up? Should I replace the heater core or just the hoses? Can anyone explain why sometimes it is overheating and other times it is running normal all in the same day? There doesn't seem to be any difference between highway travel and stop and go traffic, it overheats. What is the easiest way to reach the hoses from the heater core? Do I have to go back thru the dashboard? Help! This is the only vehicle I own and I have to keep her running!!
