I have a 1990 f-150 and some of the freeze plugs need to be replace but i don't i don't know where to look. i would be great if you can tell the area to look for them. Thanks
How do you know they are bad if you don't know where they are? They are on the sides of the block, but that probably doesn't help you much. I suggest a repair manual for your vehicle-- very helpful, and pretty cheap.
Freeze plug don't go bad. And they rarely have to be replaced. It is common to replace them during engine teardown and rebuild. They are popped out to facilitate chemical bath cleaning and flush of the block water jacket.
But they don't have to be replaced unless they are leaking, and then you would know where they are for sure.
