help needed, cant fire up my 302.

I did the head gaskets in my EFI 5.0L, F150, along with all other top end gaskets, o rings, etc, and now when i crank it over it wont fire. I have good spark and fuel. I believe it might be a timing issue because sometimes it will backfire through the intake, but i went over the timing several times and it is fine? I am stumped why it wont fire up, can anyone help push me in the right direction.

I agree with Scort, verify proper distributor installation. Make sure that the number 1 piston is on its compression stroke vice the exhaust stroke when the rotor is pointing to the number 1 tower on the distributor cap. Also make sure you accounted for the proper distributor rotor direction of rotation when doing your firing order.

Good Luck.
