Amen to Maint!

I was paid to maintain my vehicles during my work years!
Before and After that I did the 3K oil changes because I'd seen the fference plenty of times during Re-Ring and Bearning jobs.
Dont forget to lube what you can, too.

I even change Wiper blades two or three times a year.

My 1965 F-100 just got a newly rebuilt 300-6 at 212000 miles. I bought the truck from the original owner and he said that to the best of his memory the speedo only turned over once before I bought it. It just turned over again since I've had it. If he lost track of the turnovers then it could have 312,000. he said the truck never did any long distant trips. The original 240-6 still ran really good, it just started using a little oil. I wanted a bit more power so I had a 300-6 from a '79 f-150 rebuilt.

High-Miling Trucks

When my 78 F-150 reached the 365,000 Km mark(219,000miles)
My 400 was very tired,It had seen 18 United States,4 Canadian provinces & Numerous Cities.
I decided to swap in a larger/stronger more Torque/HP related
engine.
I ended up putting in a 70-429CJ Torino Engine that just happened to have 200,000+miles on it.
The compression was still great so I replaced the exhaust valve seats, and a couple of valves and put it together.
Now with truck having 265,000 Miles. It purrs like a kitten and has the strength of three tigers.

I've got a 84 300-6 it went close to 335,000, then it finally gave out. I put a rebuilt in and I'm driving again! I'm thinking a new paint job this year and I'm good to go for another 300K!

I have 37,000 miles on my 98 V6 and I have 97,000 miles on my 97 Expy V8 4.6. Very dependable and never had a problem.

My f150 with the 300 6cyl has 116500 miles on it. My uncle had an 88 f150 4x4 and a 302 with 250,000 miles onit when he traded it in. He rarely changed oil, and really worked the hell out of it. She still ran strong, but had a leaky rear main seal. We even blew the waterpump in the middle of nowhere once, drove it for 12 miles to a service station where the engine shut off all by itself. replaced the waterpump, started right up and ran at leats another 50K before he got rid of it.

TWO YEARS AGO I BOUGHT MY FIRST 300 6 WITH 65000 MILES ON IT. IT IS A 92 F150. IT NOW HAS 178000 MILES ON IT AND IS STILL RUNNING STRONG. I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE KNOWS WHERE I CAN GET PERFORMANCE REBUILD KIT FOR THIS MOTOR.
