horsepower/torque and lift kit? - Ford Forums

I have a 1995 Ford F-150 XL, 8' bed, single cab, straight 6, 4x4. I have been trying to figure out the horse power and torque, if anyone knows these for the stock ford i-6 engine, id greatly appreciate it. As for the next part of my question, With the i-6, is it worth putting a 6'' lift and 35x12.5xR15 PJ tires on? Or is it a waste do to the horsepower/torque... whatever it is?

With the lift and tires, will i be expecting a decrease in performance at all?

you can expect a serious loss of performance with those upgrades.
just a lift alone will add more wind resistance and a higher center of gravity.
the bigger tires will kill you on milage even if you change the gears to keep the same final drive ratio.
as for the engine the inline 6 is a great motor with all kinds of torque.
145 hp and 265 ftlbs torque.
the new 5.4 liter v8 only produces 265 ftlbs of torque but has much more hp.
my opinion is i like to feel some performance even in a pickup truck so i wont put a set of 35 's on i draw the line at 31-10.50 but that just my opinion.
