confused I have a question about a 1980 Ford F-150?

I used to own an '80 Ford F-150 XLT, it had a 351 Modified (I know that a factory engine) V8 with a C-4 auto and 4WD. The reason I gave it up because it had a cracked transmission and T-case. So I was wondering was the right trans. for or was it one of those rare fluke productions.

I'd say it was a fluke. Most all 351M's had a C6 transmission. The C4 would have been a down grade, but perhap's it was ordered that way. Who know's without the build sheet.
