Hi guys,

I need some advice on how to replace the ignition switch on my 1982 F-150. When I tried to start it last week i heard a crunch as I turned the key forward and the truck would not start. Luckily it got stuck in the "on" position so I was able to start the truck by shorting out the solenoid under the hood. Unfortunately, I can't shut the truck off without pulling the lead from the ignition coil to the distributor, which gives me a pretty good shock. I need to replace the ignition switch but I don't know how to remove the old one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ignition switch is located on the 'top' of the steering column.(above the pedals) You will need to remove the 2 bolts holding the column to the dash, to lower the column far enough to remove the switch.
