Re: lifted trucks in australia?

Not heard of many lifted trucks in AU....atleast not that size of lift. Now I am just a US citizen but I thought that the height laws were strict in Victoria on both ends of the scale.

Re: lifted trucks in australia?

the laws are strict here, i think 1/3 of travel increase or decrease. and 2" bodylift. and 33" tyres. oh well. too bad.
this black truck sounds cool, must be an import too, if it is a f150, as tey are only f100's here. where abouts in melbourne are you? thanks

Re: lifted trucks in australia?

I can't really help to much. I have seen a black F100 in a Just Cars magazine which was located in Queensland. I wonder if thats the one you saw CRUSHU?? Have you asked at a local 4X4 shop to find out what the actual laws are for lifted trucks. I'm guessing they would be the ones who'd know because they'd deal with lift kits etc.

Re: lifted trucks in australia?

ive been to all the local 4x4 shops, and they have all gone "****!! how big??" so that doesnt really help. i have a mate with a 89 f150, 6" lift and 35's, but he changed his mind, and lowered it, and pulled the 4x4 stuff out. now its about 4" off the black top

Re: lifted trucks in australia?

Oh i have seen a newer F250 that had a decent size lift on it. I couldn't tell you the exact details but they would have been at least 40" tyres. It looked awesome coming down the road. I saw this when i was heading down to melborne one time. I think it was in Seymour i saw it. So it was in Victoria. Maybe it is possbile for you to do it big in Vic???

Re: lifted trucks in australia?

the law lets you do about 2" body lift, and 2" or maybe 3" suspension. tyres are limited to 33" without an engineers certificate.

Re: lifted trucks in australia?

Crushu, I've seen a mag article about a green F100 in Qld with 44's (I think that's what size they were). I'd say yours would be the biggest down these neck of the woods although there are a few around with 35's. That's a fair change of mind from your mate by the way - did he get sick of carrying around a step ladder or something?
