Lifting the F-150?

I want to do a liftkit on my effie.. i only want to put 35" tyres on it, so i am thinking of doing only a body lift.

Anyone know of a good way of doing it?

I believe that nolathane blocks are used. Anyone know if they are just 3" blocks or (3" + original block height") and how many are used?

I got an 88 F150

The best thing to do is to just buy a kit. The kits some with everything you need including the steering drop-down connector. I've known people to make their own with pieces of pipe, washers, square stock, etc... but in the long run, you end up spending more money and having a sub-standard lift as well. You can typically buy the kits for around $100 US, and can be put on in a good weekend with the right tools and a good friend. By the way, I think 3" body lift will be acceptable for 35" tyres. Enjoy!!!

yeah cheers bloke..

that was the method i was going to employ, but there are many diy'ers around, and keep telling me to just make up my own.

I think i will just purchase a kit.

Re: Lifting the F-150?

hey, congrats on the decision to lift! it's an addiction :)

just for comparison, i run a 6" suspension lift with 35" MT/Rs..and i had to cut the bumper up front pretty drastically to fit them. theoretically i could have cut the bumper more (not fenders) and fit 37"s, but i didn't... anyway, i'm 2wd so there's probably some difference in our original heights to begin with.

from what i hear, body lifts are pretty nasty to install, involves drilling holes in the cab and such? let me know how it goes! good luck!
