manifold confusion

alright...so i have a 1979 f-150 with a 351m/400 i dont know what that means exactly because ive heard so many things about both of them i got confused so thats why i am here. haha

i want to put a 4bbl carb on my motor and i dont know what i need, is it posible to have a 4 bbl intake on a 351m motor without having to mess with the heads?

my buddy has a truck with a 351m/400 in it and he has a 4 bbl intake manifold and i ont know if it will fit my truck.

any help would be great
thanks
taylor

Re: manifold confusion

you can go the cheap way and get a adapter plate for your 2bbl intake and put a 4bbl carb on top.my father did that with his about 10 years ago and works great.
