need help, 1989 F150 power valve

G'day guys, I have a 1989 F150 4x4 on my hands. Power steering has just had all the seals re done however shortly after it developed a ghost which turns the wheel hard right, without warning and it cannot be released until it decides to. Even sitting at idle in the driveway, on its own it will turn and attempt to cook my pump. I've been told it sounds like the power valve is buggered. Can anyone enlighten the situation, and if this is the problem where is a sensible place to by parts for these things without getting bent over? Any help appreciated.
