Noisy Heater Fan
1989 F150 - Recently installed new heater core and heater fan motor. Shortly after the heater fan became noisy so I replaced the plastic "squirrel cage" since some of the fins were damaged. After installation of the new fan, the noise was worse..... as if the fan was hitting something. I removed the fan and motor and determined that there was plenty of clearance and nothing loose was rattling around inside the housing. I reassembled everything and the noise is still there. Any ideas?
I should add that if I hold the fan motor in my hand and apply power to it, it purrs quietly.
